The Curriculum Related to My Major
Special Education usually involves the creation of an Individualized Education Program. However, Special Educators are also capable of using the general education curriculum to teach general education classes.
In the Satit Demonstration School of UDRU, I taught the English Subject in Prathomsuksa (Primary) 2, 3 and 6.
For Prathomsuksa 2, I taught them of the words that would describe their activities during Play Time. The following are the words learned by the students:
– running
– jumping
– dancing
– singing
– riding a bike
– playing football
For Prathomsuksa 3, I taught Ordinal Numbers from 1st to 31st and on the proper way of stating dates.
Example: 20th of February
For Prathomsuksa 6, I taught them how to give directions with the use of some simple phrases like the following:
– Turn left
– Walk along
– On the corner
The Teaching Plan Related to My Major
As a Special Educator, I always prioritize the needs and strengths of my learners. I always make sure that every learning style or need is met during my lesson so that every child will be able to understand the concept. I use different methods and learning materials, and I believe this is where my practice as a Special Educator is reflected.
As an English Teacher in the Satit Demonstration School of UDRU, I follow the presentation procedure of my home school, Saint Louis University. However, for the rest of the lesson plan, I follow the lesson plan of Satit.
Below are the lesson plans I made during my time in Satit Demonstration School of UDRU. Unfortunately, I am missing the softcopy of 1 of my lesson plans. The lesson plans below should be 20. Thank you for your understanding.
