Join me as I share what I have observed about my cooperating teacher, Kru (Teacher) New. She is from the Satit Demonstration School of UDRU and it was a great honor to be her student.

Kru New is intelligent, creative, compassionate, cooperative, patient, fair, and diligent. She ensures that every child is able to reach his or her best potentials. To achieve this, she uses a variety of methods, materials, resources, and approaches.
How does she plan her teaching?
Kru New is a very good planner. She knows the lessons that will be taught for a certain week, and she knows the sequence of these lessons. The different skills and objectives to be targeted every day are also already planned by her. She also makes sure that she studies the lessons she teaches very well and that she has mastered it.
How does she prepare her lessons and materials?
With the English language being abstract, learners would need physical or visual models so that the words could be linked with the idea, hence forming understanding. My teacher prepares materials that cater to the visual needs of the learners. She is very creative in thinking of activities, that the learners are very much able to grasp the complete thought of the subject matter. Her pupils are indeed engaged and participative.
Her lesson plans are usually prepared way ahead of time which makes her ready for all her lessons. In addition to this, Kru New is flexible. She is able to adjust her lessons whenever she observes that her students do not understand the lesson or the students need more exercise of practice.
How does she teach in class?
Whenever Kru New is about to enter a classroom, the students are happy and excited. This shows how much of a great teacher Kru New is. The learners are not afraid of her, but instead, are comfortable around her. I have observed that the learners like being around her and that they are actively participating during her lessons. Kru New prepares lessons that allow student participation, however, sometimes it is lacking. The class is managed well, and the learners obey the teacher. She also usually asks intelligent and thought-provoking questions that would motivate the pupils to enhance their higher order thinking skills. Kru New is also confident in showing action or movement to the pupils, which helps the pupils understand the concept. The teacher also uses a variety of strategies or materials like songs that are familiar or are easy to follow. She would also sometimes integrate arts and crafts, like bookmarks, and she would also integrate actual games.

How is her measurement of learning and evaluation?
I believe that their measurement and evaluations should be more challenging. The teacher should also provide more support at first then lessen the support, or scaffolds, as the learners master the concepts. My teacher is able to use games and workbook activities to evaluate the learnings of the learners.
What is your overall impression on the teacher’s performances?
My teacher makes a connection with the learners. She is very good at thinking of strategies in teaching a concept and making sure the learners master the concept. The learners feel very excited and happy whenever it is time for her to teach. She has a true heart of a teacher. She makes sure that her students are academically, emotionally, and physically well. She is very patient with them and she does her best to ensure learning. She encourages her students, even me, to do our best. When one is not confident, she gives them their courage back once again. Although, it would be best if the teaching was not totally workbook-based.
One day, I hope I can become like Kru New. She is one of my inspirations to become the best teacher I can be.
